Police: Former Dolphins receiver Mark Duper beat son unconscious

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Former Miami Dolphins wide recipient Mark Duper is facing charges he beat up his 17-year-old son during a series of fights at their Jacksonville home.

Jacksonville police say the 54-year-old Duper, chase his arrest Wednesday, spent the night in jail to begin with posting a $5,000 bail and being released Thursday afternoon.

Police say Duper attacked his son, Marcus, three times Wednesday night, twice roast him out.

Former Dolphins defensive end Hugh Green said he witnessed the brawls and that Marcus Duper started the fight and his father acted in self-defense.

Duper caught 511 passes for 8,869 yards and 59 touchdowns in his 11-year career with Miami.
