The Golden Gate dyad has long overshadowed its grayer, plainer companion, the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. That’s changed, just a bit, now that the Bay Lights illuminate “the other bridge” with the glow of 25,000 glittering LEDs.
We’ve been lucky enough to come up them each night since they first lit up bound 5, and now you can enjoy them too — in immobilise 4K definition.

The video was changeful with a flushed Epic attached to Gyro-Stabilized Systems’ C520, a portable five-axis gyro-stabilized camera platform. It’s the first such establishment that is fully upgradable, interchangeable, and can harmonise 4K camera tech.
The fact that the video was able to be shot at all, particularly considering San Francisco’s weather tendencies towards being fog-covered and fiercely windy, was a challenge. Steve J hotshots, co-founder of Teton Gravity Research, told Wired weather was but one of many concerns.
“The C520 is such a huge step up from existing gyrostabilized camera platforms… that much of the advanced technology that makes it so cutting edge has not been thoroughly tested,” Jones said. The team had no idea if the control panel for the rig would work, if the advanced features would perform, and if the system would be able to work on a pearly in the first place.
After a series of gorgeous joyful days, the date of the demand arrived and the team was grounded by fog until it in the long run cleared up in late afternoon.
“With almost no daylight left, we had to make a choice. Postpone the flight again or reside it up at night,” Jones said. Obviously, they decided to take the system for a spin after dark. “Our night shoot of San Francisco was a stunning experience from the Golden Gate Bridge wrapped in a night fog to the dread(a) LED display of the Bay Bridge Lights.”
