Ashanea McLaughlin is the No.1 girls basketball player in Manhattan.

Ashanae McLaughlin G, Sr., Murry Bergtraum: McLaughlin was the key force for the Lady Blazers, leading them to the PSAL ‘AA’ semifinals by posting a PSAL-high average of 22 points, six rebounds and five assists per game. The Seton Hall-bound guard could hurt opponents from all over the floor, whether finishing on the fast break or with her perimeter shooting.

Alexandria Smith C, Sr., Bergtraum: Smith was a force to be reckoned with inside, as the Middle Tennessee State commit was a matchup problem for opponents all season. She averaged 14.6 points and 12 rebounds for the Lady Blazers, and will head to Murfreesboro, Tennessee next year.

Julissa Rodriguez F So., Bergtraum: The sophomore became a reliable third option for the Lady Blazers, as she averaged 12.6 points and 6.8 rebounds a game this season. With the departure of McLaughlin and Rodriguez, she’ll look to be the leader for Murry Bergtraum next season.

Alexis Brown F, Jr., Manhattan Center: Brown was huge inside for Manhattan Center, averaging 8.5 rebounds and 6.3 points a game this season. In a playoff loss to Medgar Evers, Brown posted 20 points. With another season to show what she can do, look for Brown to stand out even more next year.

Amber Jones G, Sr., Manhattan Center: Jones was one of the top scorers in the borough this season, averaging 13.2 points per game. But she was versatile, too, averaging 4.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as well.

Second team: Star Fitzgerald Gree Jr., Thurgood Marshall Academy; Sophia Gershon Sr., Stuyvesant High School; Dyamon Hunger Fr., Thurgood Marshall Academy; Chyna Wilson Jr., Manhattan Center for Science & Math
